2022 Carnuntum DAC Ried Braunsberg Zweigelt trocken "Rubin Carnuntum", Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Somewhat smoky, nutty, peppery and vegetal to dried herbaceous nose, predominantly dark berries with a hint of leather and aniseed. Straightforward, tart fruit with nuances reminiscent of Amarena cherries, long pepper and blackberries, lively acidity, sandy, still youthful tannins, some persistence, meat juice and hints of paprika powder in the background, salty tones, good to very good, slightly drying, but also fruity finish with a hint of ivy.
