2020 Carnuntum DAC Ried Spitzerberg Blaufränkisch trocken, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Firm, tart and quite deep, somewhat nutty, cedary, tobacco and vegetal nose, more dark than red berries, with light ethereal and herbal notes. Polished, juicy, quite firm, rather cool fruit with a hint of sour cherries and cocoa, lively acidity, present tannins, spicy and somewhat nutty wood in the background, good persistence, chalky and earthy minerality, hints of tobacco and ash, very good, somewhat drying finish with some pepper and meat juice.
