2013 Blauer Zweigelt trocken Schieferstein, Burgenland, Austria

Partly preserved black berries and cherries on the nose, very light toasted notes, some licorice, floral, herbaceous and peppery traces. Clear, ripe, fairly tart fruit on the palate, quite firm and juicy, fine youthful tannins, light acid bite, hint of tobacco, some cocoa and licorice, light etheral notes in the background, full-bodied, noticeable high alcohol, but also has cool elements, some depth, salty traces in the background, very good finish.

Editor note: Lightly toasted spicy oak on the nose, preserved cherries and predominantly dark berries, lots of vanilla, some cocoa, tobacco and tart dark earthy notes. Fairly juicy, ripe, partly preserved fruit on the palate, smoky oak and some ashes, lively acidity, light earthy and salty traces in the background, youthful, fine sandy tannins, still slightly astringent, nutty notes, hint of tobacco and cocoa, noticeable alcohol, good to very good juicy, oaky finish.
