The winery is located in the municipality of Leimen (Badische Bergstrasse area) near
Heidelberg in the German
Baden wine growing region. The traditional business was founded by Andres Seeger as early as 1707 and is now carried on by Thomas Seeger in the 13th family generation. His motto or credo is "Wine must taste. Our wines come from tradition and do not follow any trend". The vineyards cover 9.5 hectares of vineyard area in the single vineyard
Herrenberg. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Auxerrois and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir. The cultivation is carried out according to the guidelines of
organic viticulture. For quality reasons, the yield is greatly reduced. Some of the red wines are aged in French
barriques for up to 22 months. Depending on the quality, they are marked on the bottle label with the codes S, R, RR or RRR. Premium wines include "Grauer Burgunder Oberklamm", "Riesling Oberklamm" and "Spätburgunder GG Spermen". Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The winery is a member of the
German Barriqueforum and since 2010 of the
VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
