2020 Thüngersheim Johannisberg Spätburgunder VDP.Erste Lage trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Aroma of ripe mixed berries, beetroot, nuts, dried vegetal and herbal nuances, earthy hints, hints of bacon, rose petals and a hint of mushrooms and pepper. Partly preserved, warm fruit, fine sandy tannin, a little dark ethereal spice, noticeable woody perfume, nutty and chocolaty tones, a hint of juniper, some vanilla, cinnamon and beetroot, good to very good, warm finish with slightly marmalade tones and a little drying tannin.

Best to drink: Mitte 2023 bis 2027+. What our ratings mean
