The winery is located in the municipality of Thüngersheim (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. For generations, the coat of arms of the family business has featured the local parton of Thüngersheim, the archangel Michael. The formerly mixed agricultural business was completely converted to viticulture by Gregor and Barbara Schwab in 1974. Since 1990, it has been run by Thomas and Andrea Schwab. The vineyards cover 10.5 hectares of vines in the Johannisberg and Scharlachberg single vineyard sites. They are planted with the white wine varieties Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Silvaner, Bacchus, Kerner perle and Morio-Muskat, as well as with the red wine varieties Spätburgunder, Blauer Portugieser and Dornfelder. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are matured in steel tanks or in barriques. A speciality are Bocksbeutel bottlings in special sizes. In years with suitable weather conditions, an ice wine is also produced. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The winery is a member of the VDP
