Editor note: Firm, dense and deep, complex, still slightly smoky-reductive aroma of ripe citrus fruits and stone fruits with dark berry nuances, some yeast, vegetable and kernel oil, floral hints, porcini mushrooms, morels and minerality. Tight, rather juicy, yet quite dry fruit, lots of grip from ripe tannin and lively acidity, relatively dark, almost a little peppery spice on the palate, herbal notes and floral tones, present minerality, smoky nuances, still a little carbonic acid, deep and tremendously complex, very good, tight, juicy and grippy finish with bite.

The wine-growing region is located in the federal state of Hesse in Germany. The vineyards cover 3,211 hectares of vineyards starting at the Untermain east of Wiesbaden and extending about 50 kilometres along the right bank of the Rhine to Lorch north of Rüdesheim.
