2020 Bürgstadt Centgrafenberg Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Firm and quite polished, fine, a hint of floral and juniper aromas of black and red berries with paprika and a little pepper, restrained woody tones, mushrooms, hints of meaty tones and increasingly cool herbal notes with air. Taut and concentrated, tart, rather dark fruit, slightly smoky tones and nutty as well as delicately tobacco wood, some acid bite and youthful, crumbly, sandy tannin, peppery ethereal spice in the background, good depth, some power, a hint of dark chocolate and coffee, very slightly malty hints, very good, firm, complex finish, again with noble, relatively cool juice, very fine ethereal spice and draw. Gains with air over days.
