2018 Retzstadt Langenberg Silvaner Brut Nature (Deg. Oktober 2023), Franconia/Franken, Germany

Right firm, nutty-yeasty core fruit scent with delicate smoky and tobacco aromas, a hint of forest mushrooms, blanched almonds, and a trace of hay. Herb-juicy, clear, again firmly structured fruit, nutty, slightly vegetal, yeasty and hinted tobacco aromas, a bit of almond butter, persistent on the palate, has substance, medium-fine, rather moderate mousse, salt in the background, also dark berry notes, some depth, very good, juicy and finely spicy finish with dry herb notes and grip.

Editor note: Restrained, tart, clearly herbal, somewhat yeasty and nutty aroma with pome fruit aromas and a little blanched almonds. Firmly woven, quite dry, fine-juicy fruit, yeasty, almondy-nutty and herbal to herbaceous tones, quite fine mousseux, grip of friable tannin, persistent on the palate, some depth, a hint of smoke, very good, firm, again tart-juicy finish with grip and herbaceous-herbaceous tones.
