2017 Retzstadt Langenberg Riesling trocken VDP.Erste Lage, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Firm nose, light smoky notes, earthy and mineral notes, restrained yellow fruit, dried herbs, hint of dark berries, prominent mineral notes. Ripe, juicy, sweetish, creamy fruit on the palate, herbaceous notes, still slightly yeasty, hint of bacon, persistent, good grip, slightly astringent tannins, mineral notes in the background, some dark notes, rather unnecessarily sweet, vegetal and herbaceous aromas on a very good juicy, minerally finish.
