2016 Ahrweiler Rosenthal Spätburgunder trocken, Ahr, Germany

Earthy notes, nutty oak and peppery spice on the nose, partly preserved and partly dried black and red berries, very light meaty notes, hint of soup greens. Slightly muted fruit on the palate, some bacon, smoky, toasted oak, prominent vegetal notes with some more soup greems, fine sandy tannins, noticeable warm alcohol, fairly full body, not particularly deep, peppery traces on a good to very good finish.
