2018 Ried Ungerberg Blaufränkisch trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Nutty, woody and somewhat tobacco aroma of mixed berries and partly preserved cherries with dried herbal aromas, hints of smoke, dried mushrooms and coffee. Ripe, partly preserved, juicy fruit with tart, somewhat chocolaty and coffee-spicy wood, some bite, at the same time also melting and warmth, slightly ethereal aromas on the palate, predominantly friable, youthful, still a touch drying tannin, citrus traces, salt in the background, very good, preserved-fruity finish with toasty wood, which integrates well with air.
