2006 Ried Schafleiten Syrah trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Nose still closed, cherries and berries, delicate oak still slightly prominent, very light lactic notes, hints of pepper and coffee, Cool and fairly light-bodied on the palate, elegant, cool berry and cherry fruit, roasted and nutty notes, light touch of nougat, hint of dark chocolate, light salty mienral traces, touch of spice, integrated tannins, fairly lively and quite firm, very slightly astringent on a good finish.
