2021 Ingelheim Spätburgunder VDP.Aus Ersten Lagen trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Fairly firm, somewhat oaky nose, ripe black berries, some root vegetables, bread crust and floral notes. Quite juicy, again dark, almost blue fruit with smoky, nutty and restrained roasted wood notes, bread bark and root vegetables, a certain acid bite, fine sandy, slightly drying tannin, good substance and persistence, chalky-salty hints in the background, a hint of bacon, also slightly sooty tones, very good, albeit still somewhat drying finish.
