2020 Assmannshausen Höllenberg Spätburgunder Kabinett halbtrocken, Rheingau, Germany

Lightly smoky, herbal and herb-spicy nose with partially preserved predominantly dark berries, a bit of cherries, licorice, and clove. Sweet fruit with a certain acidity, again somewhat preserved, smoky notes reminiscent of gingerbread spices on the palate, crumbly-sandy tannin, certain sustainability, bitter barrel tones, a bit of herbs and salt, good finish.
