The winery is located in the municipality of Lorch in the German wine-growing region of Rheingau. The family business has been run by Klaus and Ursula König since 1983. The vineyards cover 15 hectares, mostly on the steep slopes of the Rhine in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley in the individual vineyards Frankenthal, Hinterkirch and Höllenberg (Assmannshausen), Kapellenberg (Lorch), Seligmacher (Lorchhausen) as well as Berg Roseneck, Berg Rottland, Bischofsberg and Drachenstein (Rüdesheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling and Pinot Blanc as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Frühburgunder. Low yields are an important quality criterion in the vineyard.
The white wines are generally vinified in stainless steel tanks for freshness and fruitiness. The red wines are fermented on the skins. Most of them are then matured in large oak barrels (600 to 3,000 litres), a small part in barrique barrels. The premium wines are Spätburgunder Assmannshäuser Höllenberg, Riesling Rüdesheimer Berg and Riesling Lorcher Kapellenberg. Grape juices, bottle-fermented sparkling wines, semi-sparkling wines and noble brandies (marc, yeast, wine) are also produced. Around 120,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of the associations Rheingau Winegrowers' Association, BRW Bund Rheingauer Weinbaufachschulabsolventen and Technikerverband Weinbau Bad Kreuznach.
