2020 Johannisberg Hölle Riesling Grosses Gewächs, Rheingau, Germany

Herbal citrus-stone fruit nose with some citrus blossom and herbal-vegetable aromas, some gooseberries, beeswax, hints of black berries and a hint of candy. Somewhat muted, sweetish fruit, herbal-vegetable aromas and present acidity, a touch of dark berries and gooseberries, smoky traces, a little mushroom in the background, noticeable, somewhat covering tannin, tart mineral tones, slightly melting in the contours, very good finish with hints of smoke and some candy sweetness as well as slightly drying tannin and minerality again at the end.
