2008 Thermenregion Merlot trocken Reserve, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Red berries and some cassis on the nose, bell peppers and herbaceous notes, earthy and mineral as well as smoky notes. Ripe red and black fruit on the palate, toasted, nutty oak, chocolate, fairly fine, only slightly astringent oak tannins, hint of herbs and some salty notes in the background, slightly sooty, not particularly deep, oaky again on a good finish.
