2023 Escherndorf Lump Riesling Kabinett VDP.Erste Lage, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Cool, rather restrained, somewhat almondy and quite clearly planty to herbal scent of yellow fruit with a hint of spring onions. Polished, juicy, firm fruit with well-integrated sweetness, slightly minty hints and some tobacco, lively, almost present acidity, has some grip, good persistence, dark berries and hints of pepper in the background, also mussel shells and grapefruit, some depth, clearly salty and chalky tones, very good finish with bite.
