The winery is located in the community of Röttingen (area Maindreieck) in the German wine-growing region of Franken
. The family has been involved in winegrowing for a very long time, but it is only since 1991 that the products themselves have been marketed. A guest house and a hedge tavern are attached. The farm is managed by Alois Hofmann. Son Jürgen completed his winemaker training in Geisenheim
and in practice at the Fürst Rudolf
Winery (Bürgstadt). Since 2001 he has been responsible for the wine production
The vineyards comprise seven hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Feuerstein
(Röttingen) in the Franconian wine region, and Propstberg
(Markelsheim) in the Württemberg
wine region. They are planted to 60% with the white wine varieties Silvaner, Riesling, Bacchus and Müller-Thurgau, and 40% with the red wine varieties Spätburgunder, Schwarzriesling, Domina, Tauberschwarz, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The white wines are matured in steel tanks, the red wines mature in traditional large wooden barrels, the high-quality Pinot Noir and Deaf Black wines up to 22 months in barrique barrels.
