2018 Gambach Kalbenstein Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Relatively tart, smoky, junipery and slightly herbal-vegetable aroma of predominantly dark berries with earthy nuances as well as a hint of tobacco, resin and tobacco ash. Ripe, partly preserved, relatively warm fruit, vanilla, delicately smoky and also chocolaty wood spice, crumbly-sandy, relatively fine tannin, good substance and persistence, a little jammy tones on the palate, restrained dark ethereal spice, has power, some salt, a hint of eucalyptus in the warm finish.
