2017 Gambach Kalbenstein Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Somewhat vegetal, earthy and floral scent of red and black berries with notes of undergrowth and a little wild mushrooms. Warm, slightly developed fruit with nutty, floral and again undergrowth tones, crumbly, sandy, slightly drying tannin, noticeable alcohol, some persistence, some salt, a little ethereal spice, some persistence, herbal flavours, good to very good finish with warm, clear fruit and some acid bite.
