2021 Bingen Kirchberg Spätburgunder trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Slightly vegetal aroma with red and black berry tones, a little aubergine, hints of tomato, earthy and root-vegetable traces as well as hints of tobacco and tobacco ash. Tart fruit with smoky and again slightly ashy notes, a certain acid bite and crumbly-sandy tannins, good persistence, warm and cool elements on the palate, a little salt, again root vegetables in the background, notes reminiscent of beetroot, good to very good, somewhat ashy-tobacco finish.
