Developed, somewhat nutty, barrel-woody and slightly tobacco-like aroma of red and a little black berries with bacon, dried mushrooms and aromatic smoke. Powerful and quite woody in the mouth, lots of smoke and roasted spice, bacon and a little tobacco, peppery nuances on the palate, some bite and slightly drying, fine sandy tannins, bitter chocolate notes, noticeable alcohol, ethereal spice in the background, hints of salt, some soya, good, albeit again alcoholic and woody finish. Better than the sample from a year and a half ago, but unfortunately the wood and alcohol still largely divide the wine between them.
