2016 Ried Goldberg Pinot Noir trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Tart, somewhat mushroomy scent of black and red berries with smoky notes, a little dark ethereal spice, a little cinnamon, light tobacco and hints of tar. Tart, cool, quite tightly knit, restrained fruit, smoky and coffee-roasted wood aromas, lively acidity and present, fine sandy tannin, again waxy tones on the palate, a little mint, good persistence, tar in the background, a little bacon and mushrooms, has power, still seems relatively young, very good, firm, grippy finish with dark fruit, roast and ethereal notes.
