2020 Lorch Pfaffenwies Riesling, Rheingau, Germany

Tart, cool and restrained, yet quite deep, delicately yeasty and a hint of tobacco with yellow fruity aromas and clear, stony minerality as well as a hint of fennel. Calm, bright, at first very restrained fruit, which tastes juicier and also a touch sweeter with air, nutty, yeasty and planty tones, delicately floral and again hints of fennel, clear, tart, somewhat chalky minerality, tobacco nuances, very good, firm, quite tart, still slightly muted finish with grip and increasingly also juice. Still needs to mature.
