2015 Mittelburgenland DAC Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm nose, smoky, spicy oak, black berries, soup greens, light nutty and earthy notes, mineral traces in the background. Ripe, juicy dark fruit on the palate, prominent spicy oak and chocolate, light acid bite, youthful, fine sandy tannins, persistent and full-bodied, some smoked bacon, slightly jammy, but also firm, still largely undeveloped, more toasted oak and chocolate on a very good finish. Uncompromisingly modern style, very ripe with lots of oak.
