2016 Riesling trocken Mon Chéri, Rheingau, Germany

Vegetal and herbaceous notes on the nose, light floral notes, hint of petrol, partly candied citrus fruit, some pomaceous and stone fruit, but also has a whiff of black berries, very light yeasty traces in the background, some cardamom, prominent mineral notes. Firm, ripe, juicy, sweetish fruit on the palate, tart vegetal and herbaceous aromas, very elegant acidity, integrated tannins provide grip and backbone, persistent, fairly intense mineral notes, some sugar candy in the background, good depth, very good, long, fairly minerally finish that would probably be even more gripping without the unnecessary sugar content.
