The winery is located in the municipality of Göttlesbrunn in the Lower Austrian wine region of Carnuntum. It has been in the family since 1780. The business is run by Franz Taferner and daughter Karoline. The vineyards comprise 25 hectares of vineyards in the areas Altenberg, Bärnreiser, Haidacker, Hagelsberg, Kräften, Rosenberg and Schüttenberg. The red wine varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are processed to 60%, and the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, , Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gelber Muskateller to 40%. The near-natural cultivation is carried out according to the guidelines of integrated plant protection with permanent greening and exclusive compost fertilization.
The vinification is carried out in a gentle manner, whereby great importance is attached to vintage and varietal typicity. The single vineyard white wines Ried Schüttenberg Chardonnay and Ried Haidacker Chardonnay are fermented spontaneously in 600 litre wooden barrels and then mature for 12 months on the in the barrel. The other white wines mature in stainless steel tanks. The red wines mature for 10 to 18 months in , where the malolactic fermentation also takes place. Premium wines include the red wine cuvées "Excalibur" (Zweigelt, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon) and "Monument" (Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Merlot), the pure red wine "Tribun" (Cabernet Sauvignon), as well as the white wine Chardonnay Haidacker. We also produce Frizzante and Rosé. The winery is a member of the Rubin Carnuntum Weingüter and Traditionsweingüter Österreich winegrowers' associations.
