2011 Blaufränkisch trocken Föllig, Burgenland, Austria

Moderate spicy oak on the palate, hint of tobacco, preserved sour cherries and dark berries, some dried herbs, peppery spice, light tarry and spicy notes. Clear, ripe, polished fruit on the palate, tart, dark and juicy, moderate spicy oak, some tobacco and tarry notes, licorice in the background, salty and herbaceous notes, good substance and persistence, polished, full-bodied, but also has cool elements, some depth, sweet pimento powder in the background, still young, bitter toasted and mineral notes, some more tobacco, very good elegant, juicy finish.
