2016 Carnuntum Blaufränkisch trocken "Liebkind", Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Firm and deep, somewhat smoky and tobacco aroma of black and also a little red berries with a touch of liquorice, hints of herbs, bitter chocolate, mint and peppery nuances. Taut, polished, rather cool, tart, juicy, fresh fruit, taut, fine, still youthful tannins, smoky, toasty and somewhat tobacco wood notes, again a hint of bitter chocolate, dried herbs and pepper in the background, a little tar and a lot of salt, also chalky tones, very firm structure, good depth, very good, tart, grippy finish with traction. Has clearly gained again with maturity.
