2022 Mayschoss Mönchberg Frühburgunder VDP.Grosses Gewächs trocken, Ahr, Germany

Herb, quite firm and complex, somewhat tobacco-like, dried-herbaceous, nutty and a little smoky nose leaning more towards dark than red berries with a hint of cherries, iodine, tar, and suggested underbrush. Polished, firm, juicy fruit with slightly blackberry-like aromas, very slightly chocolaty and nutty wood notes, good dark tobacco as well as some leather, crumbly tannins, good substance and sustainability, certain depth, hinted dried mushrooms, earthy-mineral, also salty tones, very good, again slightly smoky finish with bite.
