The winery is located in the municipality of Sulzfeld (Maindreieck area) in the German wine growing region of Franconia. The winegrowing in the family can be traced back over 400 years to the year 1591. Since 1998, Susanne and Hugo Brennfleck, the 13th generation of the family, have been running the business. The philosophy of the house, according to their own statement, is "to preserve tradition, to preserve values and to gently and carefully integrate the modern". The vineyards cover 22 hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Maustal and Sonnenberg (Sulzfeld), Kalb and Kronsberg (Iphofen), Küchenmeister (Rödelsee), as well as Lump (Escherndorf). They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, Riesling,Pinot Blanc, Scheurebe, PinotGris, Huxelrebe and Kerner as well as the red wine varieties PinotNoir, Domina and Dornfelder. Through low yields and selective manual harvesting, the aim is to produce high quality wines with a focus on the terroir. The leading variety is the Silvaner, which is especially cultivated and developed in different styles and also in relation to the vineyards and traditionally bottled in Bocksbeutel. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and fine brandies are also produced. The winery is a member of the Frank & Frei wine growers' association.
