2018 trocken Cuvée "Monachus", Burgenland, Austria

Lifted, somewhat smoky, nutty and leathery aroma of predominantly dark berries and a little cherry with a hint of pepper, paprika and undergrowth. Clear, tart, juicy fruit with smoky and bitter chocolate wood notes, ripe, crumbly tannins, hints of soot and Havana tobacco, some persistence, chalky and again peppery tones, not very deep, good to very good, slightly alcohol-warm finish.
