2011 trocken Monachus, Burgenland, Austria

Light dried herbs and earthy notes on the nose, predominantly black and a few red berries, green bell peppers, hint of mint. Ripe, partly preserved, fairly juicy fruit on the palate, burnt nutty, spicy oak, touch of cocoa, cedary traces, peppery traces too, fairly lively, integrated tannins, good substance and persistence, some coffee in the background, delicate acid bite provides good balance for the high alcohol, sweetish spicy oak on a good to very good juicy finish.
