Quite firm, slightly bacony aroma of ripe, predominantly dark berries with beetroot, mushrooms, wild mushrooms, herbs and a hint of cherries. Tart fruit that becomes juicier with air, with smoky to bacony and slightly roasted wood notes, nutty on the palate, again reminiscent of beetroot, a little coffee grounds, again herbal flavours in the background, crumbly-sandy tannins and a slight bite, chalky-salty notes in the background, leathery nuances, a hint of citrus zest, very good finish.

Best to drink: 2025-2029+. What our ratings mean
