Spätburgunder Brut, Rheingau, Germany

Oxidative aroma of extremely ripe Pinot Noir, slight animal notes, and somewhat rustic. Spicy oak taste, plum and cherry preserves, again a bit rustic, quite full-bodied, harmonious mousse, noticeable tannin, on the palate more spicy oak, good finish. An interesting red sparkling wine whose overall impression is only slightly marred by the nose.
