2023 Hattenheim Hassel Riesling Auslese VDP.Grosse Lage, Rheingau, Germany

Cool, somewhat vegetable to ethereal-herbaceous and slightly smoky nose reminiscent of partly preserved stone fruit with nuances recalling Williams pear and almond blossom. Polished, somewhat candied, very sweet fruit with slightly red berry and nutty aromas, lively acidity, very delicate carbonation, hinted tobacco and honey, a trace of caramel in the background, some barrel wood, salty minerality, very good finish with delicate bitterness.
