1999 Assmannshausen Frankenthal Spätburgunder trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Ruby to garnet red, noticeably lighter on the rim. Spicy oak aromas, preserves of red and black berries. Clean, elegantly juicy fruit, integrated spicy oak, relatively fine-grained tannins, good persistence on the palate, toasty notes on the finish.
