The winery "Tiefenbrunner - Schlosskellerei Turmhof" is located in the municipality of Kurtatsch (Cortaccia) in the South Tyrolean lowlands (province of Bolzano) in the Italian wine-growing area of South Tyrol (region Trentino-South Tyrol). The origin of the traditional winery dates back to 1225, when a "Gut Linticlar" was mentioned in a document. Since 1675 it was owned by several families until it finally got its present name by marriage. In 1848, the business began as a commercial winery and the purchase of grapes from contracted winegrowers. With the opening of a "Buschenschank" in 1968 a bottling was also introduced. It is worth mentioning that since 1910 the renewable energy supply has been provided exclusively by our own hydroelectric power station. The company is run by Hilde and Herbert Tiefenbrunner with son Christof and daughter-in-law Sabine. Stephan Rohregger is the oenologist.

The vineyards cover 25 hectares of vineyards, which extend from 220 to 1,000 metres above sea level. In addition, grapes are purchased from local winegrowers with a total of 45 hectares of vineyards. The white wine varieties Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Müller-Thurgau and Goldmuskateller are processed, as well as the red wine varieties Vernatsch, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Lagrein, Pinot Noir and Rosenmuskateller. When building new vineyards, the location and grape variety are optimally matched. When pruning the vines, the Simonit & Sirch method is used, which enables controlled growth. Weather conditions permitting, natural plant protection is increasingly used.

The wines are produced in the product lines Classic (traditional vinification), Turmhof (selected hillside sites) and Linticlarus (grapes from the best sites/quality). The grapes (red and white) are always grated and fermented in stainless steel at low temperatures in a controlled manner. In the Linticlarus line, fermentation takes place 100% in barriques. Depending on the type of wine and quality line, the young wines are stored in stainless steel or wooden barrels until they reach optimal maturity. Particularly full-bodied red wines and some white wines are aged for 9 to 12 months in barrique. Linticlarus wines mature for up to one year in the bottle before being marketed. Among the premium products are the DOC wines South Tyrolean Chardonnay Turmhof (55-60 hl/ha), Sauvignon Blanc Kirchleiten (45-55 hl/ha), and Lagrein Riserva Linticlarus (30-50 hl/ha). The average annual production is 750,000 bottles, of which about 80% are white wines. The wines are exported to the Netherlands, Germany and Russia, and overseas to the USA and Australia. The winery is a member of the "Konsortium Südtiroler Wein" association.
