Firm and deep, somewhat vegetal to herbaceous and bacony nose of yellow fruit with light nutty-woody aromas and a hint of gooseberries and butter. Polished, juicy, firm fruit with a hint of citrus zest, mussel shells and dark berries, lively acidity, has a grip of ripe tannin, good substance and persistence, a certain depth, salty minerality, hints of barrel wood, lemon verbena, redcurrants and pine nuts in the background, very good, slightly peppery and cool-vegetable finish with grip and tension. May still mature a little.

Best to drink: 2025-2030+. What our ratings mean
