2022 Südsteiermark DAC Ried Sulz Sauvignon Blanc trocken "Joseph", Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Relatively cool, firm and quite deep, somewhat vegetal to herbaceous, mushroomy and a hint of smoky aroma with pomaceous and stone fruit notes, green pepper, some bay leaf and light oak aromas. Polished, firm, rather warm fruit with a delicately sweetish melt, some spicy and nutty wood tones as well as a hint of caramel, fine acidity, has a grip of ripe tannin, good persistence, certain depth, yellow spice, mushrooms and butter in the background, with air increasingly also paprika, chalky, almost stony minerality, very good finish with a certain alcohol warmth.
