2008 Leithaberg Ried Neugebirge trocken Große Lage "Cabernet - Merlot", Burgenland, Austria

Fairly cool, tart nose, cherries and black berries, tart earthy and mineral notes. Straightforward tart fruit on the palate, more earthy notes, touch of old oak, medium-fine, partly slightly brittle tannins, good persistence, light acid bite, prominent chalky and earthy mineral notes in the background, has some depth, still young, noticeable alcohol, still slightly brittle on an otherwise very good finish. Needs time.
