2007 Leithaberg Ried Loisland Merlot trocken Premium, Burgenland, Austria

Prominent roasted notes on the nose, preserved red berries, nutty and vegetal notes, spicy coconut. Oak dominates the palate, more roasted notes and chocolate, some leather and cloves, preserved berry fruit, touch of undergrowth and herbs, fairly prominent, slightly astringent tannins, full-bodied and has some substance, but not particularly deep, still rather closed, good finish.
