2007 Ried Loisland Merlot trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Preserved red and black berries on the nose, plums and cherries, some dried herbs, smoky roasted notes. Full-bodied and juicy on the palate, loads of ripe, creamy fruit, sweetish and tart spicy oak, some chocolate, more herbs and spices in the background, light salty note, predominantly very fine tannins, but also some astringent oak tannins, persistent, has some depth, noticeable alcohol, fairly prominent oak on a very good finish.

Best to drink: 2012-2016. What our ratings mean
