The traditional winery is located in the municipality of Tattendorf in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Thermenregion. Viticulture is practised by the Reinisch family in the fourth generation. It all began in 1923 with a half-hectare vineyard. In 1995, the Californian-style cultural winery with a new press house and cellar was put into operation. The Reinisch family is also known as the "Mondavis of the Thermenregion". Johann Reinisch (1952-2009) was considered the "red wine motor" of this wine-growing region. After his tragic death, the business is now run by son Johannes, assisted by his two brothers Christian and Michael. Attached is a wine tavern run by Veronika Reinisch. The vineyards cover 40 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Tattendorf (Dornfeld, Frauenfeld, Holzspur, Kellerried, Lores) and Gumpoldskirchen (Grillenhügel, Satzing, Spiegel). They are planted with the red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, St. Laurent, Pinot Noir and Blauer Portugieser, and the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Riesling and Sauvignon Bl anc. Natural viticulture is practised according to organic guidelines.
In the cellar there are over 600 barrique barrels as well as conventional large wooden barrels for ageing. The wines are vinified in four different lines. These are "Vom Steinfeld" (classic ageing in large wooden barrels), "Specials" (various cuvées), "Reserve" (barrique ageing) and the parade line "Premium" from special years (Grande Cuvée and Grande Reserve, long barrique ageing). The top products include Chardonnay Reserve Lores (10 months in wooden barrels), Pinot Noir Reserve Grillenhügel (16 months in wooden barrels), Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot Reserve (up to 20 months in wooden barrels), Pinot Noir Grande Reserve Holzspur (18 months in wooden barrels, 6 months in bottles) and St. Laurent Grande Reserve Holzspur (22 months in wooden barrels, 6 months in bottles). In years with suitable weather conditions, noble sweet wines such as Beerenauslese, Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein (as a speciality also red wines) are produced. Around 230,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, wine vinegar and noble brandies are also produced
