2002 Steinberg Riesling Kabinett Goldkapsel, Rheingau, Germany

A little developed, somewhat dried-vegetable to herbal, nutty and hinted mushroomy scent of mellow yellow fruits with nuances reminiscent of brown butter, pistachios and honey. Ripe, lean, somewhat sweet-sour, with air increasingly juicy fruit with a hint of caramel, lively acidity, some persistence, salty and earthy tones, good to very good finish with delicate phenolic bitterness and a hint of lichen.
