Wine Review Report :

wein.plus rating: Very good (87 WP)
Last reviewed: 5 June, 2017
Editor note: Nose still reductive and slightly muted, fairly tart, prominent dried vegetal notes, citrus fruit, touch of pomaceous and stone fruit, yeasty, earthy and mineral notes, floral traces. Ripe, juicy, slightly sweetish fruit on the palate, dried vegetal, herbaceous and yeasty aromas, lively, elegant acidity, fairly good substance and persistence, hint of black berries in the background, firm stucture and grip, prominent earthy and salty mineral notes, still slightly rough, full-bodied, very good firm, juicy, minerally finish. Closes down with aeration, so please give it time to develop.
Best to drink: 2018-2022+

The German wine growing region of Franconia used to be divided into the three areas of Maindreieck, Mainviereck and Steigerwald with 23 large vineyards and 216 individual vineyards. In November 2011, the members of the Franconian Winegrowers' Association adopted a new regulation. The three old areas will be replaced by 12 much smaller ones. These will also replace the 23 large sites in the medium to long term. The old areas once played a role in the predominant marketing of Franconian table wine, which they had lost for some time. Before this conversion, the following description applied to the Maindreieck area:

Main - Flussverlauf mit Maindreieck und Mainviereck
