Description to Bianco di Custoza DOC
DOC area (also Custoza) for white wines in the western part of the Italian Veneto region. The zone comprises the hilly country and the undulating plains between the Adige and Lazise rivers on the south-eastern shore of Lake Garda with the municipalities of Bussolengo, Castelnuovo del Garda, Lazise, Pastrengo, Peschiera del Garda, Sommacampagna, Sona, Valeggio sul Mincio and Villafranca di Verona in the province of Verona. It roughly corresponds to the DOC area of Bardolino. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, the label can indicate Vigna followed by the name of the vineyard
The white wine is blended from the varieties Trebbiano Toscano (10-45%), Garganega (20-40%), Trebbianello/Friulano = Sauvignonasse (5-30%), Bianca Fernanda = Cortese (max. 30%), as well as any use of Malvasia, Riesling Italico = Welschriesling, Pinot Bianco = Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Manzoni Bianco (max. 30%). There are also the wine types Superiore, Spumante (Metodo classico = bottle fermentation and Metodo italiano = tank fermentation) and Passito.
