Weinmanufaktur Walporzheim

The "Winzergenossenschaft Walporzheim eG" (Walporzheim Winegrowers' Cooperative), based in Bad Neuenahr in the German wine-growing region of Ahr, was founded as early as 1871 by six Walporzheimers, making it the second oldest in Germany. In 2009, it merged with the Mayschoß-Altenahr winegrowers' cooperative. The red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder, Blauer Portugieser, Domina, Regent and Dornfelder, as well as the white wine varieties Riesling, Müller-Thurgau and Pinot Blanc are grown in the Walporzheim vineyards Alte Lay, Himmelchen, Kräuterberg and Pfaffenberg. The wines are vinified and marketed under the name "Weinmanufaktur Walporzheim" in the winery in the municipality of Mayschoss. For those interested, guided tours are also organised in a viticultural nature trail in the Walporzheim steep slopes.
